Hi Peg, I'm glad my refinancing info struck a chord with you. In some ways this is simple but in other ways not. I'll send you a PM to try to help wherever I can. Take care, Randy

I too am 71, and have a mortgage and have felt about it for years as the single greatest inflation protection opportunity available to me. Each year I pay back with cheaper dollars. And the money I haven't paid for the house is in the IRAs. I've been wondering about refinancing. Did that on our prior house about ever 7 years...clearly not as aggressive as you are but thinking along the same lines. I need to go back through you figures because I don't quite understand the part about rolling the "deposit"? into the loan and paying it off in 2 years and getting money from the bank. I missed something on my first read thru obviously.

The "senior discount" from the bank is very informative, now I understand the bank logic behind being able to buy this house 8 years ago even though we have no income just like you have no income.
