LOUISIANA
The Pelican State
From the travels and adventures of the “World’s #1 Trackchaser” All-Time Favorite Louisiana Track: NOLA Motorsports Park Current lifetime trackchasing state rank: 1 Best Memories: I certainly don’t want to offend anyone from Louisiana. None of the racing from the Bayou state really sticks out in my mind. It seems as if tracks come online and then go out of business frequently there. Louisiana, for me, is similar to West Virginia. I never really got it going racechasing or trackchasing wise in those places. However, I have had the very best time visiting Mardi Gras and eating great food in New Orleans. It’s one of my all-time favorite cities. I spent my very first week of full-time employment in New Orleans staying in the heart of the French Quarter. That got me off to a good start with Louisiana! I’m disappointed I never got to see a race at the track in Monroe. I’ve been down there but never to see a race. The short track racing industry has a long history of nicely constructed tracks that were never able to get off the financial ground. Although I’m not a road course fan by any stretch the NOLA Motorsports Park and the No Problem Raceway Park are probably my favorites in Louisiana. Each was a little bit of a “down-home” permanent road course as compared to the really big, better-known road courses of America. If you see a track link in the above list simply click on it to be transferred to my Trackchaser Report. Here you will be able to read about my adventure at this particular track. Not only will you learn about my time at the track but you’ll hear about all of the interesting people, places and things I encountered during the entire trip, coming and going, to that speedway. Most of my Trackchaser Reports will also include a photo album and YouTube video. Check it all out. Don’t be afraid to use the “search” box in the upper right corner of my website’s home page. Just type in the track name or whatever and you’ll be directed to the place you want to be. Below is a key to surface types and track configurations so you can understand the above list just a little bit easier. Surface types: D-dirt; P-paved; M-mixed Configuration types: O-oval; RC-road course; F8-figure 8 track
