Most of the racing I’ve seen in New Mexico has been at rural racetracks. I picked Sertoma (SERvice TO MAnkind) Speedway because they treated me so well during my visit. They were a non-profit track, which is how their name was derived.
It was a bummer to go all the way to Eunice, New Mexico and the Cardinal Motor Speedway only to get rained out at intermission with a light rain shower. At the High Plains Raceway, the fans threw eggs at the drivers! I saw the first-ever dirt race at Sandia Motorsports Park. At the Uranium Capital Speedway, Juan Alvarez, a racing friend I met during a trackchasing visit to Colombia in South America joined me. Yep. Lots of unusual experiences in New Mexico.
